Unfortunate Changes…

So here’s the deal.  I’m losing money.  Lots of it.  Three and a half gold a week, to be exact.

So there will have to be changes.  Mass lay offs and pay cuts.  I’m very sorry.  You are welcome to come back to the company if you are laid off, but you must understand that salary will be lower unless you can demonstrate that you can keep your wellness up.

If I could afford to continue with generous salaries, I would.  But the market just isn’t in my favor.

Ator Farms Opens!

We have decided to try our hand at “vertical integration,” a business management technique where we will own both a grain company and a food company, with food being our final end product.  This way, we’ll produce grain and then sell it to ourselves while cutting out the profit of the middle man.  How does that sound?  Well if it sounds like profit, then it’s good for your salary!!

Our new grain company is Ator Farms.

So here’s the deal.  If you have a higher “land” skill than “manufacturing” skill, I want to ask you to leave Ator Marketplace and instead take a job at Ator Farms.  This will help your salary and also help the business.  If you can’t yet quit Ator Marketplace, let me know and I’ll fire you (and of course re-hire you at Ator Farms).

Raises!!

Increase Wellness!

Want a way to increase your wellness to 100 in day or two, at relatively little cost?  Fight in a war!  I recently started doing this, and helps me gain levels while also increasing my wellness.  Here’s how:

1. Don’t have a job.  If you are currently working for me at Ator Marketplace, just ask me to fire you if it won’t let you quit (I’ll re-hire you after the war!).
2. Have over 40 wellness.
3. Buy 2 moving tickets (about £8 each)
4. Buy a weapon (depending on how much damage you want to do will determine the quality of weapon which determines the cost)
5. Go to My Places -> Army -> Show Active Wars
6. Find a pair of countries that have an active battle going on.
7. Move to one of those countries.
8. Fight in that country.
9. Move back to the UK
10. Go to the hospital in your region (London for example).  The amount you will be healed is determined the quality level of the hospital.  A Q4 hospital will heal you 40 wellness.

I’m still new to the process so I can’t guarentee I’m not wrong about one of these steps.  But I do know I now have 98 wellness and that has greatly increased my productivity with the company.

Layoffs

Unfortunately I had to let three employees go today, all who hadn’t worked today and whose skill level was less than 1.  They were given severance packages for the short notice.  To those who lost their jobs, I apologize and wish you the best of luck.

If you work everyday and your job level is above 1, you shouldn’t have to worry about losing your job.  Try to keep your wellness up, as that increases our productivity.  The more productive we are, the more I can afford to pay everyone!

Currently we are not making a profit.  According to my calculations, we currently lose £2.27 a day.  However, if productivity increases (work on your skills and wellness), we should be able to make a profit.

Pay Raise Formula

I have put together a formula for determining pay raises.  While I will not share the forumula, here are some tips as to how your salary can increase.

• I will use the Worker Productivity Calculator to determine how much each citizen contributes to the company.  This takes into account both your wellness and your skill (and some other factors).
• I will also take into account each relevant and interesting comment you make here, on the company blog.  This is an easy way to increase your salary quickly.
• The more days you work at this company, the more your salary increases.  Loyalty pays off!
• Days which you do NOT work will greatly hurt your salary.  I do believe I am being generous with these salaries, but not working hurts the company and cannot be tolerated.  Your pay will decrease 1GBP each day you do not work, at least in the short term, and if it continues you will lose your job.  Sorry, but that’s the one thing I have to be tough on.

• Work every day if possible.  It takes, what, 15 seconds to click “work,” right?  It will increase your skill, help the company, and lead to pay raises and bonuses.
• Workers will be paid more when their skills increase.  If you feel as if you deserve a raise and have not been given one, just send me a message and I’ll try to accommodate your request.
• If you need a gift to increase your wellness, message me and I’ll try to accommodate your request.
• Check in on this employee blog every couple days and see what’s new!  If you comment often (leave your citizen name when you comment), you will receive pay raises.
